Industry Fellowships for Parliamentarians
Industry and Scottish Parliament & Business Exchange (SPBE) Fellowships programmes are designed to provide MSPs and senior parliamentary staff with a unique insight into business and industry.
Fellowships are open to all parliamentarians on a cross-party basis. Fellows have the opportunity to work with one or more organisations – from multinational corporations and FTSE100 companies to social enterprises and government agencies. Most Fellowships consist of 18 days of placements over an 18 to 24 month period.
Providing Parliamentarians An Insight into Business and Industry
The ethos of all SPBE programmes is educational, non partisan and non lobbying. Fellowships are intended to provide parliamentarians with a unique insight into the wider issues facing business and the Scottish economy. Each programme is bespoke, tailored to an individual’s specific interests, and designed to fit in with parliamentary commitments.
Applying to Take Part in a Fellowship
Parliamentarians - Apply to do a Fellowship
There is an application form that all parliamentarians must complete in order to participate in a Fellowship, but in the first instance you should contact the SPBE Chief Executive Arthur McIvor.
Companies - Want to Host a Fellow?
We are happy to talk to any organisation about becoming involved in the work of the SPBE. However, we cannot guarantee that any organisation will have the opportunity to host a Fellow and we always allocate parliamentarians to companies based on that individual’s specific objectives and interests. Contact the SPBE Chief Executive, Arthur McIvor, for further information.
