Returning to Stand Alone Strength

On 8 th May 2009 , the Scottish Parliament & Business Exchange (SPBE) arranged an update programme from RBS for 11 MSPs. This was hosted by RBS' new Chairman Sir Philip Hampton.
The theme of the day was for the bank to return to stand alone strength and involved sessions from Senior Economic adviser Stephen Boyle, Head of Corporate Banking Ken Barclay and a Q&A with Chairman Sir Philip Hampton.
The MSPs who attended were Sarah Boyack, Rhona Brankin, Derek Brownlee, Linda Fabiani, Liam McArthur, David McLetchie, Duncan McNeil, John Park, Mike Pringle, Iain Smith and Shirley-Anne Somerville.
Following the day Sir Philip Hampton, Chairman, RBS said
"There has never been a more important time for business and politicians to forge a close understanding on key issues. Organisations like SPBE play a vital role in this work."
