5th June 2009
On 5 th June the Scottish Parliament & Business Exchange (SPBE) arranged an Induction day for 7 MSPs at BPs new HQ in Aberdeen . The day was hosted by the MD of BP North Sea, Bernard Looney.
The objective of the day was to discuss the current challenges facing the sector and the critical issues for sustaining long term success in the North Sea.
MSPs in attendance were Nicol Steven, Andy Kerr, Derek Brownlee, James Kelly, Nanette Milne, Alison McInnes and Lewis Macdonald.
Commenting on the day, Bernard Looney said
"This was our first BP Induction Day designed as an in depth look at the North Sea industry and a discussion on topical oil and gas issues. It was a highly successful day from our point of view and we hope the MSPs enjoyed learning more about our industry. We will definitely be discussing the potential for further events of this kind with The Scottish Parliament and Business Exchange who did a great job in planning and organising the programme."
Bernard Looney, Managing Director North Sea
A follow up inward programme for key executives within BP is now being planned at the Parliament before the end of the year. <<Back to news page |
