Alliance Boots Inward Programme

The Scottish Parliament and Business Exchange (SPBE) hosted fourteen key staff from Alliance Boots (Scottish Division) on an inward programme at the Scottish Parliament.

The main objective was to increase their knowledge and understanding of the Scottish Parliament.

The day started with a welcome from Alasdair Morgan MSP in his role as Deputy Presiding Officer.

Sessions on the day included presentations and discussions on how the Parliament works, understanding Committees and Cross Party Groups, watching First Ministers Questions and an MSP session on their role in the Parliament as well as their particular work as a Committee Convener.

John Whigham, Divisional Director for Scotland & NI, Alliance Boots commented “SPBE provides the vital link to enable Parliament and our business to build awareness and a better understanding of each other for mutual benefit.”

Further exchanges are now planned going forward including enhancing Alliance Boots knowledge of the Parliament as well as developing an induction programme for MSPs to understand the Alliance Boots business and sector throughout Scotland .
