MSPs visit Lloyds Banking Group

Eight MSPs visited Lloyds Banking Group Scottish Headquarters
on the 10th of September 2010 as part of an outward programme organised by the Scottish Parliament and Business Exchange. Ken MacIntosh MSP, Rhona Brankin MSP, Margaret Smith MSP, David Whitton MSP, Liam McArthur MSP, Derek Brownlee MSP, Sarah Boyack MSP, and Linda Fabiani MSP attended the programme, which was designed to allow MSPs to learn more about Lloyds Scottish operations.
The programme opened with an explanation of Lloyds presence in Scotland, which was delivered by Susan Rice, Managing Director of Lloyds Banking Group Scotland. This was followed by a
presentation by Donald Kerr, Head of Commercial Banking Scotland, and Alasdair Gardner, Head of Corporate Banking Scotland on ‘Supporting Businesses in Scotland’.
After a break, Phil Loney, in his role as Managing Director, provided an introduction to Scottish Widows, which was followed by an introduction to SWIP by Dean Buckley, SWIP Managing Director. The programme concluded with a session on Economic Research by Bank of Scotland Chief Economist Donald MacRae.
Speaking after the programme, Susan Rice said:
“The Scottish Parliament and Business Exchange provide a
unique opportunity for MSPs and senior business figures to discuss and examine the relevant and pressing issues facing Scotland's economy."
